Problem: The SMART Board CPU doesn't switch on.
Solution: Make sure that the plug leading from the SMART Board podium is plugged
into a working power outlet. Then press the power button on the front of the CPU.
Problem: Projector won't turn on.
Solution #1: Move
the on/off switch on the side of the projector remote to the "on" (up) position.
Press the power button.
Solution #2: If the projector
remote is on, but the projector unit is not responding, switch off classroom lights
and try again.
Problem: The SMART Board does not respond.
Solution #1: Check that the eraser and all the pens are in place.
Solution #2: Have the CPU detect the SMART Board:
1. Using the CPU mouse, double click on the SMART Board icon in the lower right
hand corner of the screen.
2. A menu will appear. Left click on the button labeled "Control Panel." A new window
will show.
3. Left click on the button labeled "Connect."
4. Select "Detect." The CPU will now attempt to locate the SMART Board hardware.
5. After the CPU has finished (there are no communication ports with a red "x"),
left click "OK." The SMART Board will now respond.
Problem: On-screen cursor is not aligned properly with SMART Board.
Solution: Orient the SMART Board-
1. Using the CPU mouse, double click on the SMART Board icon in the lower right
hand corner of the screen.
2. A menu will appear. Left click on the button labeled "Control Panel." A new window
will show.
3. Left click on the button labeled "Orient."
4. A new window will open. Select nine point orientation and select "OK."
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to orient the SMART Board.
Problem: Need to use on-screen SMART Board keyboard or right-click
menu (right mouse button).
Solution: On the SMART Board pen and eraser tray, push the button corresponding
to the function you wish to use.
